Formed in March 2013, Sudbury, ON based folk-rock band Sea Perry has exploded onto the Canadian music scene with their driving guitar lines and catchy riffs.

In the short time that they’ve been together, Sea Perry has released an EP “Why the Folk Not?” and has performed at multiple national festivals (Big Music Fest, Boots and Hearts, Northern Lights Festival) and have opened for internationally recognized artists such as The Trews, The Strumbellas and Great Big Sea.

Sea Perry’s new single “Molly’s Shoes” is currently rotating on CBC radio and building steam. This is their first single from the full length album set for release in April 2015.

It seems as if Sea Perry was always meant to be. After being introduced through a mutual friend, Chris Milligan (guitar, vocals) and Chad Bouchard (drums) formed an instant connection, having both faced hurdles trying to make it in the music biz through other projects. Collectively, Chris and Chad have played in bands ranging from punk, to ska, to rock, and to folk, but never felt a special spark playing in other bands. Sea Perry was born out of a pure, unadulterated love for folk music, allowing Chris and Chad to put their own spin on classic melodies to create music that is fresh and unique.

While Chris and Chad were building the base of what would become Sea Perry, there was still a piece missing. Enter Shawn Fisher (bass), a music enthusiast who has been playing and composing music for close to two decades. Shawn’s abilities to play a number of instruments and his comprehension of composition were exactly what Chris and Chad were looking for. After an impromptu jam session with Shawn, Sea Perry had officially found it’s missing piece. “The connection we have is a perfect triangle of ideas, personalities and brotherhood…” says Chad.

The mutual love, respect and experience combined with the ups and downs of being a musician can be felt in their music and live show. Using music to express their feelings and inspire others has driven Sea Perry to write heartfelt lyrics and melodies that speak to the everyman, and their driving rhythms are taking folk-rock to a new level. With nothing but music on their minds, Sea Perry is looking to take their music to the next level. With the success of their debut EP, Sea Perry is looking to release a full-length album in 2015 and tour nationally and internationally in the same year. For Sea Perry, music, no matter the style, is about heart, soul and passion. According to Chris, “Music is a universal language that has the power to inspire people. With Sea Perry, we’re making music that reflects on our experiences and passion for music to create a connection with our audience.”
