UKAE is a Toronto-based indie band featuring Whittaker’s raspy and oh-so-manly voice working in tandem with Minshall’s sweet and soulful sound. Originally one part Taylor Whittaker and one part Nickie Minshall, UKAE was technically born when the pair met in Grade 3. Whittaker brings his profound ear for blues and rock to the table, and Minshall her classical and jazz inspiration. This combo coupled with Taylor's organic knack for catchy guitar riffs makes for some indie folk-rock tunes that will stick in your head for days. Years, maybe. From an acoustic duo at Free Times Café’s low-key open mic to opening for Courtney Barnett during NXNE; from the back room of the Cameron House to a rowdy, sold out EP-release at Lee’s Palace – you could say UKAE has made its way around Toronto’s musical block.

Their debut studio effort, Morning Story, was released July 30th, 2014. Morning Story captures the soft, sweet beginnings of UKAE at its finest, but the band already has plans for a louder, wilder, and more rock ‘n’ roll full-length album for 2015. The Single 'BONESHAKER' was released January 30th, 2015 and is also available for download on iTunes.
